Virginia Contreras Castilla is the Sales Director for Southern Europe at Speeron. She became part of Speeron in September 2022.
What is the best thing about working at Speeron? Without a doubt, the Speeron’s team. I am very lucky to work with great professionals and, above all, with excellent people.
Do you have any hobbies or other interests? I love to do sports in nature; whenever I can, I escape to climb a mountain, surf, or go scuba diving. My second great passion is music. I think life is better with a soundtrack.
How do you describe the company’s culture and values? On a personal level, Speeron makes you feel like part of a family. If we focus on the professional level, it is a company in continuous development; we listen to our customers and adapt our solutions to what they need. Always providing top-notch service and prioritizing guest satisfaction at the accommodations.
How do you balance work and your personal life? For a mother, it is obvious that the most important thing is her children. I couldn’t do a job that didn’t allow me to be present at their important moments. At Speeron we work hard and have a lot of tasks to complete. However, as a team, we are all deeply invested in the company because it also impacts our personal lives. I believe this is truly fantastic. The option to telework is beneficial for balancing work and personal life, allowing me to be available for my kids.
How do you learn and grow in your role? Throughout my professional career, I have worked in the tourism sector. Speeron has been a new challenge for me in many ways. I am very proud of everything I have learned and will continue to learn, thanks to this company. It has allowed me to have a more technological point of view. The tourism sector is perhaps still very traditional; many people think that technology is going to steal quality from the service, and nothing could be further from the truth. Our solutions allow hotels to reduce costs, streamline processes, and always provide the best services to guests. All the hotels we work with agree that our services have improved the satisfaction of their clients.
How do you collaborate with colleagues and managers? I believe we share a strong bond and always strive to assist each other.
Any advice you would give to someone who wants to join the team? I once read, “Find a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” This perfectly describes what it’s like to work at Speeron.
