Get to know our employees! Emma Karlsson

Emma Karlsson, Operations Manager at Speeron, has been with the company for 9 years.

What is the best thing about working at Speeron? I think the best thing is that if you work hard, you can be a part of creating a role that suits you! I started out working mostly with finance, learning so much, but I realized I would love to work more with projects and support and assist my colleagues to succeed in their fields.

Do you have any hobbies or other interests? I spend most of my free time with my family and friends, and I try to visit the Swedish West Coast as often as possible. Even if I love Stockholm, North Bohuslän is still the most beautiful place on earth.

How do you describe the company’s culture and values? We have a familiar atmosphere. If you enjoy your work, you will perform better.

How do you balance work and your personal life? It can be hard to find the right balance when you’re always connected, but the key is planning! The less time you have (between work, kids, friends, etc.), the better you get at prioritizing.

How do you learn and grow in your role? I feel like I have support and trust from management, which makes me more confident when talking about new tasks. Also, being able to ask colleagues for help without feeling judged is important for growing.

How do you collaborate with colleagues and managers? I try to see everyone’s strengths and make sure we take advantage of them. We cannot expect everyone to understand each other’s tasks, but we need to respect them. All functions are needed to succeed, even if it’s answering the phone, paying our supplier’s invoices, or selling our products.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to join the team? We are a team, and we help each other out, so don’t be afraid to ask for help if needed! We don’t expect someone new to know everything, but you need to be open to learning.
