New hotel trend has fast-growing Swedish hotel supplier looking abroad – Increasing demand for automatic check-in opens up new markets for Speeron

The growing trend of automatic hotel check-in/check-out has led to an increased interest in Swedish hotel service provider Speeron’s services. The company recently installed systems for automatic check-in/check-out at the Best Western &hotel and The Winery Hotel in Sweden. With a growing demand for this improved guest service, Speeron is now hoping for an expansion within and beyond the Nordic region.

– Surveys show that there’s a huge demand for automatic check-in services among international hotel guests and we’re seeing this trend clearly ourselves. There’s a growing interest among our clients for this technology, especially since it has obvious advantages for hotels and hotel guests alike. As we provide a fully in-house developed, market leading and, above all tested and proven system, we’re very optimistic about the future and are already in touch with hotel chains in several markets outside of Sweden, says Karl Söderberg, Partner at Speeron.

Speeron’s system for automatic check-in/check-out is a part of the company’s integration platform Piccolo, which is integrated with the hotels’ own booking systems, streamlining guest flow and providing enhanced service for both the hotels and their guests.

Automatic check-in is similar to self-service at airports; the guest enters a booking code on a touch screen in the lobby and receives a key card and relevant information, such as receipt, room information, wifi codes, upgrades, offers etc. The guest can also choose to pay during check-in, which in itself doesn’t take much more than a minute.

– Instead of standing behind a traditional counter, which often feels like a barrier between staff and guest, we are standing beside the check-in stations to help the guests. That gives us the oportunity to have a more personal contact with the guests says Jonas Westring, CEO at Best Western and hotel.

Apart from the integration platform Piccolo, Speeron also provides hospitality TV solutions, such as software, TV-sets, receivers for hotel room distribution, digital signage etc.
