Econ builds hydrogen filling stations in Gothenburg
Vätgas Sverige is pleased to announce that our member Econ is building two new hydrogen filling stations in Gothenburg. One at the classic site Gasklockan in Gothenburg and one directly adjacent to DB Schenker’s terminal in Bäckebol. In this way, the major roads E6, E20 and national highways 40 and 45 are covered.
“We are proud to be able to contribute to Gothenburg’s transition towards sustainable transport with our new hydrogen filling stations. This is an important step to enable a greener future for both heavy and light vehicles,” says Morgan Larsson, CEO & co-founder Econ.
The stations, which are expected to be inaugurated in December 2024, will offer refueling facilities with pressures of 350 and 700 bar for light and heavy vehicles. With a capacity of over 1,500 kg of hydrogen gas per day, this investment will promote sustainable transport, reduce emissions in the Gothenburg region and increase redundancy for hydrogen refueling opportunities.
“The new hydrogen gas filling stations in Gothenburg are a significant step towards a more sustainable transport sector. We look forward to these facilities contributing to reducing emissions and promoting the use of green hydrogen in the region,” says Björn Aronsson, operations manager for Vätgas Sverige.
Vätgas Sweden looks forward to following the construction and inaugurating this important infrastructure for future fossil-free transport later this year.
