Rejlers wins assignment for Trelleborgs Energi regarding unique energy solution
Rejlers has been assigned a task by Trelleborgs Energi to participate in the development of an innovative energy solution for the new district of Västra Sjöstaden, which is part of the large urban development project Kuststad 2025. The energy concept, supported by the Energy Agency and in collaboration with Granitor and Serneke, aims to to create a sustainable and climate-neutral district by combining low-temperature district heating, solar cells, batteries and hydrogen storage
The project aims to build over 7,000 homes and improve business and infrastructure. Trelleborgs Energi emphasizes the importance of creating sustainable societal values through innovative technologies, which contributes to increasing the city’s degree of self-sufficiency and reducing emissions.
Rejlers will carry out a feasibility study as a continuation of the previous feasibility study, where the focus is on optimizing the energy system and developing business models for the project. The goal is for the study to be completed in the first half of 2024 and form the basis for future investment decisions and permit processes.
– Trelleborg is at the forefront when it comes to locally produced green energy. They are part of the Nordic hydrogen corridor and the investment that is now being made in Kuststad 2025 is exactly the type of initiative that is required for Sweden to cope with the energy transition, says Malin Ljung Eiborn, head of sustainability at Rejlers.
