Det g\u00f6r det m\u00f6jligt att lagra f\u00f6rnybar energi \u00f6ver tid och anv\u00e4nda den n\u00e4r och d\u00e4r den beh\u00f6vs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sverige har s\u00e4rskilt goda f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ttningar: v\u00e5rt elsystem best\u00e5r redan till stor del av&nbsp;<strong>f\u00f6rnybar el<\/strong>, och kostnaden f\u00f6r att producera den sjunker snabbt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dessutom kan v\u00e4tgas&nbsp;<strong>utvinnas fr\u00e5n flera olika energik\u00e4llor och energib\u00e4rare<\/strong>, vilket g\u00f6r den till en flexibel l\u00f6sning f\u00f6r ett helt fossilfritt energisystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-karnkraft\">K\u00e4rnkraft<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>V\u00e4tgas kan ocks\u00e5 framst\u00e4llas med&nbsp;<strong>el fr\u00e5n k\u00e4rnkraft<\/strong>&nbsp;eller med hj\u00e4lp av&nbsp;<strong>n\u00e4sta generationens k\u00e4rnreaktorer<\/strong>. Forskningen fokuserar nu p\u00e5 att utveckla nya processer d\u00e4r v\u00e4rme fr\u00e5n reaktorn, i kombination med innovativa kylmedier och katalysatorer, anv\u00e4nds direkt f\u00f6r att producera v\u00e4tgas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Denna metod kan ge&nbsp;<strong>betydligt h\u00f6gre verkningsgrad<\/strong>, eftersom den undviker de v\u00e4rmef\u00f6rluster som normalt uppst\u00e5r n\u00e4r v\u00e4rme f\u00f6rst omvandlas till el. F\u00f6r att tekniken ska kunna anv\u00e4ndas kr\u00e4vs dock att&nbsp;<strong>framtidens reaktorer f\u00e4rdigst\u00e4lls och kommersialiseras<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det finns i dag flera befintliga och framv\u00e4xande s\u00e4tt att producera v\u00e4tgas med k\u00e4rnkraft:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>L\u00e5gtemperaturelektrolys<\/strong><br>V\u00e4tgas produceras genom vanlig elektrolys med el fr\u00e5n k\u00e4rnkraft. Produktionen kan ske direkt vid k\u00e4rnkraftverket eller p\u00e5 annan plats via eln\u00e4tet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>H\u00f6gtemperaturelektrolys (SOEC \u2013 Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cell)<\/strong><br>Denna teknik anv\u00e4nder b\u00e5de el och v\u00e4rme fr\u00e5n reaktorn, d\u00e4r cirka 25 % av energin tillf\u00f6rs som v\u00e4rme. Den h\u00f6ga temperaturen g\u00f6r processen mer effektiv, och tekniken \u00e4r p\u00e5 v\u00e4g att kommersialiseras.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Termokemisk vattendelning<\/strong><br>Termokemisk uppdelning anv\u00e4nder mycket h\u00f6g v\u00e4rme f\u00f6r att spj\u00e4lka vatten till v\u00e4te och syre genom en serie kemiska reaktioner. Till skillnad fr\u00e5n elektrolys, som kr\u00e4ver el, kan termokemiska processer utnyttja v\u00e4rme direkt \u2013 till exempel fr\u00e5n koncentrerad solenergi eller h\u00f6gtemperaturreaktorer. Eftersom tekniken undviker steget d\u00e4r v\u00e4rme f\u00f6rst omvandlas till elektricitet (vilket normalt inneb\u00e4r stora energif\u00f6rluster) finns potential f\u00f6r en h\u00f6g total verkningsgrad. Ber\u00e4kningar visar att verkningsgraden kan uppg\u00e5 till omkring\u00a0<strong>40\u201350 % fr\u00e5n v\u00e4rme till v\u00e4te<\/strong>, vilket \u00e4r\u00a0<strong>j\u00e4mf\u00f6rbart eller n\u00e5got l\u00e4gre \u00e4n modern elektrolys<\/strong>\u00a0(ca\u00a0<strong>65\u201370 % fr\u00e5n el till v\u00e4te<\/strong>). Tekniken befinner sig fortfarande p\u00e5 forskningsstadiet, men kan p\u00e5 sikt bli ett effektivt s\u00e4tt att producera v\u00e4te i stor skala i omr\u00e5den d\u00e4r h\u00f6gtemperaturv\u00e4rme finns tillg\u00e4nglig.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-naturgas-och-biogas\">Naturgas och biogas<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>I dag framst\u00e4lls den mesta v\u00e4tgasen industriellt genom&nbsp;<strong>omvandling av naturgas<\/strong>. I dessa processer fungerar v\u00e4tgasen oftast som ett&nbsp;<strong>mellanled<\/strong>&nbsp;i produktionen av kemiska produkter som&nbsp;<strong>ammoniak, metanol<\/strong>&nbsp;eller andra industrir\u00e5varor \u2013 snarare \u00e4n som en energib\u00e4rare i sig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-olja-och-kol\">Olja och kol<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"white-space: normal; font-size: medium;\">\u00c4ven andra kolv\u00e4ten, s\u00e5som olja och kol, anv\u00e4nds f\u00f6r att producera v\u00e4tgas, n\u00e5got som fortfarande sker i stor omfattning inom den traditionella industrin.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-biprodukt\">Biprodukt<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Stora m\u00e4ngder v\u00e4tgas uppst\u00e5r som en biprodukt inom industrin, som till exempel inom klor\/klorat-produktion. D\u00e4r processen g\u00e5r ut p\u00e5 att dela upp salt i best\u00e5ndsdelarna natrium och klor genom elektrolys av saltvatten.
